This gorgeous blue and white serving bowl was made by J.Meir & Son Potteries who manufactured earthenware in Britain from 1837-1897. The diamond marking on the backside was issued from the British Patent Office from 1842 - 1883 to assure consumers that the piece was of British design. The details within the marking tell us that this specific piece was manufactured on August 26, 1848. Measuring 10" long, 8" wide and 2" deep, it has some discoloration and marks from years of being well loved, but for a piece of ironstone that is 170+ years old it is in overall very good condition. A perfect addition to your blue and white transferware collection, or perhaps the piece to launch one, this remarkable bowl is truly one of a kind.
