Flowers from the Garden

I found myself at Trader Joe's this week wandering around the flowers. Nothing felt quite right- the yellows were too yellow, the purples too unnatural and everything else just not as autumnal as I had hoped. Then I spotted this alstroemeria with its soft brown stripes that lean ever so slightly pink. Paired with a bundle of tiny rust-colored mums, the combination seemed to whisper autumn rather than announce it. A gentle nod to the changing season, when the nights turn crisp but the days are still warm and sun-drenched. The delicate beauty of these softer blooms called for something equally understated. A vintage clear glass urn, with its graceful handles and classic silhouette, allows the flowers to take center stage while lending just a touch of old-world elegance. A lovely reminder that sometimes the simplest vessels make the most beautiful arrangements.
