Details

Some pieces carry a story that extends far beyond the table.

This exceptional pair of antique Limoges salad plates was retailed by Gilman Collamore & Co., one of New York City’s most prestigious luxury merchants during the late nineteenth century and a contemporary rival of Tiffany & Co. Manufactured in Limoges, France between 1861 and 1890, these plates offer a rare glimpse into the elegance and refinement of America’s Gilded Age.

Each plate features a beautifully molded scalloped form accented by delicate nautical-inspired detailing and hand-decorated floral motifs in soft pink tones. The combination of French craftsmanship and distinguished New York provenance makes this pair particularly special for collectors of antique porcelain and historic tableware.

Measuring approximately 8 1/4 inches in diameter, both plates remain in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks noted.

Whether displayed in a cabinet, incorporated into a plate wall, or used as part of a thoughtfully collected table, these pieces bring more than a century of history and craftsmanship into the home.
