Details

A beautifully timeworn pair of 19th-century books, held together with twine somewhere along their long lives and all the more charming for it.

The larger volume is an 1883 bound edition of Peterson’s Magazine, containing the year’s issues of the popular 19th-century American women’s periodical. The smaller book is a well-loved copy of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress.

Both books show considerable wear from age and use, including worn covers, bindings, and pages. They are offered exactly as found and are best appreciated as decorative antique objects rather than pristine reading copies.

Together they make a wonderfully textural addition to an old bookshelf, tabletop, cabinet, or collected vignette—the kind of pieces whose wear is part of their story.
