Details
A beautifully framed and wonderfully detailed view of Scotland, this vintage numbered engraving depicts Dundee from Broughty Ferry, after a study by A. Fleming and an image engraved by Andrew Thom for Scotland Illustrated, originally published in 1845.
The landscape looks across the water toward Dundee, framed by trees in the foreground—a small but evocative glimpse of nineteenth-century Scotland. The image is exceptionally well presented with layered neutral matting and a warm wood frame, giving it a quiet, collected presence.
A certificate is attached to the reverse identifying the image, and the piece is numbered. We have found reference to the original image through a rare bookseller in London; however, no additional provenance accompanies this particular piece, and it is not being represented as an original 1845 impression.
The overall framed piece measures approximately 14 3/4” x 12”. Hanging hardware is attached to the back.
In excellent overall vintage condition.
