Details
Some serving pieces quietly accompany the table. This one arrives with a little more presence.
This antique Visnaud Limoges covered vegetable bowl is beautifully restrained in white French porcelain, with generous gold banding, gilded handles and a wonderfully elegant covered form. It is the sort of piece that can sit comfortably among elaborate antique china or bring a bit of old-world grandeur to a much simpler table.
Made for Wright, Tyndale & Van Roden of Philadelphia, renowned purveyors of fine china, glass and luxury goods in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Use it for vegetables, potatoes or a favorite side dish at Sunday lunch, then bring it back to the table for Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the gatherings in between. We especially love pieces like this because the simplicity of white and gold allows them to mingle beautifully with china collected across patterns and generations.
Measures approximately 5” high x 10” from handle to handle. Interior measures approximately 6 3/4” across x 3” deep.
There is a small chip along the outside edge of the lid, shown in the photographs. Otherwise, the piece displays minimal wear and remains in beautiful antique condition.
