Vintage Hall Autumn Leaf Coffee Pot | Jewel Tea Hall China

A classic piece of American kitchenware, this vintage Hall China coffee pot features the beloved Autumn Leaf pattern created for the Jewel Tea Company. With its warm rust, gold and brown leaves against creamy Hall pottery, it feels particularly at home on an autumn breakfast or coffee table.

The coffee pot measures approximately 8” high and holds 32 fluid ounces. It appears to have had very little, if any, prior use. There is one very small hairline near the spout that is visible from the interior; otherwise, it displays beautifully.

A little history: Hall introduced the Autumn Leaf pattern for the Jewel Tea Company in 1933. Jewel’s traveling salesmen sold groceries door-to-door and customers could earn premium coupons toward household goods. Autumn Leaf pieces became part of that program and were distributed through authorized Jewel salesmen.

This example bears the “Tested and Approved by Mary Dunbar Jewel Homemakers Institute” backstamp. The Jewel Homemakers Institute was established in the 1920s, and “Mary Dunbar” became the name associated with its homemaking and product-testing program.

The Autumn Leaf pattern remained in production for decades, becoming one of the most recognizable lines associated with Jewel Tea and Hall China.
