Vintage Chinese Floral Painting on Silk | Framed Botanical Art

Delicate, colorful and beautifully expressive, this vintage Chinese botanical artwork depicts graceful green leaves and stems accented by vivid red and pink blossoms. The composition has a wonderfully airy quality, with fine brushwork and generous negative space allowing each botanical detail to stand on its own.

Characters and a small red seal appear along the side of the composition, adding further visual interest. The artwork is beautifully presented with layered neutral matting and a slender warm-toned frame.

The reverse bears information identifying the piece as originating from the People’s Republic of China. The artwork measures approximately 8” x 10” and is slightly smaller than the mat opening, allowing a narrow portion of the underlying ground to remain visible in places, as pictured.

The overall framed piece measures approximately 16” x 13 3/4”, with a mat opening of approximately 9 1/2” x 11 1/2”. Hanging hardware is attached to the back.

In excellent overall vintage condition.
