Classic French Limoges salad plates made by Theodore Haviland for Burley & Company Chicago.

Burley & Co had a few iterations throughout its history and was an importer and retailer in Chicago from 1838 - 1923. The company officially came to be called Burley & Company in 1883. In 1907 they merged the import business and retail business. In 1923 the company was sold to Albert Pick & Co.

Theodore Haviland was a prolific designed of Limoges china and the mark on this piece dates its manufacturing to 1903.

Sold as a set of 4, each plate measures 7 1/2" across the rim. They feature pink roses and a blue/green laurel garland design. Two of the plates have significant rubbing to the gold rims while the other two have minimal gold loss. They have no chips or cracks and are in excellent overall condition.
