Classic French Limoges oval serving bowl made by Theodore Haviland for Burley & Company Chicago.
Burley & Co had a few iterations throughout its history and was an importer and retailer in Chicago from 1838 - 1923. The company officially came to be called Burley & Company in 1883. In 1907 they merged the import business and retail business. In 1923 the company was sold to Albert Pick & Co.
Theodore Haviland was a prolific designed of Limoges china and the mark on this piece dates its manufacturing to 1903.
The bowl measures 9 3/4" long x 7 1/4" wide x 2" deep. It features pink roses and a blue/green laurel garland design. It has some very gentle rubbing to the gold rim but no chips or cracks. It is in excellent overall condition.
