Details
This stunning covered serving dish was made by Noritake with the Morimura Nippon marking. It features a purple & pink floral trimmed in a soft black/gray geometric design. Based on the back stamp, it was most likely manufactured in the early part of the 20th century. We think it is a butter dish. The serving bowl measures an overall 7 1/4" across with the inner serving bowl measuring 5" across and 3/4" deep. It stands an overall 3 1/2" high. The gold trim is significantly rubbed on the handle and there are some spots where the painting is rubbed off on the design on both the lid as well as on the base (all visible in photos). There are no chips or cracks and for its age it is in excellent condition.
