Details
This beautiful small blue transferware platter was manufactured in Trenton, NJ by Mercer Potteries who claimed to be the first company in America to create semi-porcelain ware. Mercer was organized in 1868 and dissolved by 1930. From 1865 - 1872 the company focused on making all white dinnerware and began introducing pattern and color to their designs in 1873. This very rare pattern is called Touraine and looks as if it was made in one of England's fame potteries. It measures 6 1/2" long x 5" wide. It is in excellent condition.
