Horizon magazine was published in the US from 1958 - 1989 and was subtitled 'A Magazine of the Arts'. It was produced by American Heritage ~ who also produced a magazine of the same name.

In 1968 they published this 2 volume set entitled The Horizon Cookbook with Volume I containing An Illustrated History of Eating and Drinking Through the Ages and Volume II containing Menus and Recipes. Volume I was written by William Harlan Hale in conjunction with the editors of Horizon Magazine and Volume II was simply by the editors with the Editor in Charge being Wendy Buehr.

Equal parts a lavishly illustrated history book and all encompassing cookbook that bridges the ages as well as cultures, both volumes are in excellent condition. The box shows some light signs of age/wear but is sturdy, clean and in excellent overall condition as well.
