Vintage The American Heritage Cookbook Two Volume Box Set
American Heritage magazine was published in the US beginning in 1947 and still exists today. It was relaunched in 1949 with a 'broader scope for the general public'.
In 1964 they published this 2 volume set entitled The American Heritage Cookbook with Volume I containing An Illustrated History of American Eating and Drinking and Volume II containing Menus and Recipes. Volume I was written by the editors of Horizon Magazine with specific chapters by select authors. Volume II was simply by the editors of the magazine in conjunction with recipe editors Helen McCully and Eleanor Noderer.
Equal parts a lavishly illustrated history book and all encompassing cookbook that bridges that spans the existence of this vast nation, both volumes are in excellent condition. The box shows some light signs of age/wear but is sturdy, clean and in excellent overall condition as well.
