Vintage JonRoth England Old Talbott Tavern Bardstown Kentucky Plate

Manufactured in Staffordshire England for import by the JonRoth Company based in Peoria, Illinois, this decorative plate features the Old Talbott Tavern in Bardstown, KY. The Old Talbott Tavern was built in 1779 as a stagecoach stop and is still in business today.

John Roth began importing items to sell in the US in 1909. This company is also still in business today to the wholesale trade. The back stamp leads us to believe this plate was produced anywhere between 1975 - 2000. This is a big window of time but they repeatedly used the same back stamps. It is a great piece of historical significance for both the tavern it features and as a piece of historic American pottery. 

The plate measures just slightly under 10" across and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
