Vintage Derk Smit Laurel Canyon Watercolor Painting
This professionally framed & matted watercolor painting by artist Derk Smit is of Laurel Canyon in California. Derk Smit was born in the Netherlands in 1889 and emigrated to the US in 1914. He originally settled in Chicago but moved to California sometime in the 1950's after making frequent trips there to paint. He died in July of 1984 at the age of 95. Someone took the care to clip a newspaper article about him and tape it to the back of the frame.
The frame measures an overall 15 3/4" long x 14 1/2" wide and has a depth of about 1". There is some very gentle rubbing to the outer corners of the frame but otherwise it is in excellent condition.
Elevate the Everyday
A single dinner plate or small platter in a charming vintage pattern goes a long way when serving small bites & sweet treats. It's always all in the details.
