Vintage Brass Goose Handle Tureen

We were rendered speechless when we stumbled upon this AMAZING brass lidded tureen. With goose head handles and a laurel design finial, it is truly magnificent. Made in India and marked MRM, it measures an overall 20" long, 12 1/2" high and 10 1/2" wide. The interior is silver (tinned or plated - not 100% sure) and measures 13" long, 9 1/4" wide and 5" deep. There is some strong patina across the surface, especially on the trim design that we think adds to its overall charm. Lid fits snugly and you could polish it up or leave it as perfectly imperfect as is. There are some surface scratches and markings from age and use which are typical and do not detract from its overall beauty or function. This rare find is in overall very good condition.
