Henry Rowlands was a jeweler and importer in Albany, NY from 1869 - 1886 then in Brooklyn, NY from 1887 - 1888. Finding Rowlands flatware has proven difficult, most likely because of the short time frame he was in business. This set of 6 fruit spoons measure just under 6" long and have a classic laurel wreath design on the handle. There are initials engraved on the backside of each handle MVDL in charming script. These spoons were being kept in a display case (clearly highly valued by the previous owner) and are in excellent condition.

Autumn in the Country
It was cold and crisp outside; the kind of fall evening where your heaviest knit sweater is barely warm enough in the shade but just right in the hazy glow of the fading sun. Woolen blankets stood at the ready to provide additional warmth and candles were lit so that the hazy glow would remain once the sun had set.
