Lamberton (based out of Trenton, NJ) was the eponymous manufacturer of some of the highest quality restaurant/hotel ware ever made. Sold to the Scammell Family in 1923 and ran by them until 1954, this set of 4 floral salad/dessert plates were made for The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC and would have been manufactured at some point during this time frame. The marking also indicates Nathan Straus & Sons New York, one of the original owners of Macy's and founder of Abraham & Straus department stores. Each plate measures 6 3/4" across. There are moderate utensil marks on the surface and some rubbing and fading to the gold rim and design. They are in very good overall condition for their age.
