Originally produced for "Scotland Illustrated" in 1845, this engraving by Andrew Thom from a study by A. Fleming features Dundee from Broughty Ferry. There is a certificate attached to the backside of this framed print which measures 14 3/4" long x 12" wide. It is numbered and framed exceptionally well. There is no other provenance and the only other information we could find on this print was from a rare bookseller in London. Hanging hardware is attached to the back and it is in excellent condition.
Autumn in the Country
It was cold and crisp outside; the kind of fall evening where your heaviest knit sweater is barely warm enough in the shade but just right in the hazy glow of the fading sun. Woolen blankets stood at the ready to provide additional warmth and candles were lit so that the hazy glow would remain once the sun had set.
