Not only is this individual teapot charming, it is a delightful slice of Chicago history. Made by Albert Pick & Company for the Hotel Sherman which stood in Chicago's famed Loop from 1836 - 1973 (the building was torn down in 1980 and replaced by the James R Thompson Center), it is made of nickel silver and holds 8 fluid ounces. There is patina across the surface that could be polished up or left as imperfectly as is. It is in excellent overall condition.

Autumn in the Country

It was cold and crisp outside; the kind of fall evening where your heaviest knit sweater is barely warm enough in the shade but just right in the hazy glow of the fading sun. Woolen blankets stood at the ready to provide additional warmth and candles were lit so that the hazy glow would remain once the sun had set.
